The public is invited to a Winter Market fundraiser to help support The Achievement Center, a local private school designed to offer smaller class sizes and more individual instruction to help students succeed academically and thrive in their local community.
The school’s first ever Winter Market will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at The Achievement Center’s location at 1050 S. Tuttle Avenue in Sarasota. The event will include music, food trucks, craft vendors, holiday shopping opportunities, family activities and prizes.
“This is the first time that we have offered a Winter Market fundraiser, and we hope the community will join us in our efforts to raise money for the school,” said Noel Camacho, director of The Achievement Center. “The funds that are raised will assist local families by offsetting costs associated with student field trips. We also hope to use some of the funds to purchase technology that will allow us to offer more classes for our students, including yearbook, broadcasting, photography, coding, and others.”
With a mission to help students achieve their full academic potential, The Achievement Center has been helping bridge the achievement gap for students since 1979. The Achievement Center is a fully accredited private school serving students in grades 6 through 12. Offering smaller class sizes, the school is able to meet the individual needs of children and assist those who might struggle to find success in a larger, more traditional academic setting.
The Winter Market is being planned by the TAC Booster Club, Inc., the school’s student council, and the school’s staff members. “This was an idea that came from one of our active volunteers, and we are thrilled to make this a reality,” Camacho said. “We hope people come, enjoy the activities and kick off their holiday shopping by supporting local businesses and local vendors.”
The event will take place in the parking lot outside of the school. Small businesses, arts and craft vendors and organizations interested in purchasing space are encouraged to register by November 26. The cost for a 10-by-10 space is $50. Those who register before Nov. 1 will pay $40 per spot. Vendors must bring their own tables, chairs, and/or canopy tents. No electricity is provided; quiet generators are encouraged. “We are thankful for the response that we have received so far from local businesses and vendors willing to host tables, bring food trucks and assist in our fundraiser,” Camacho said. “We hope the community will join us for a fun, engaging day of holiday shopping and family fun.”
