|SARASOTA, Fla. (October 23, 2023) – The Rookies have announced their annual Global School Rankings, highlighting the very best student work in an array of art and design categories. Since 2015 The Rookies have given trusted and industry-respected rankings, providing a reliable showcase of art institutions worldwide. |
This year, Ringling College was ranked #1 in the world for Motion Graphics. The Motion Design department has had a lot to celebrate lately—students from the program have taken the Rookie of the Year Award for three out of four consecutive years and they have occupied top-ranking positions for the Rookies Best of Motion Design rankings almost every year. Ringling’s Motion Design students also won first place in the recent 24 HOURS International Animation Contest.
And that’s not all. Ringling’s 3D Computer Animation program ranked #1 in the U.S. for Production Excellence and #3 worldwide. The celebrated animation program is well-known for producing highly-skilled and industry-ready animators.
Ringling College was named #4 in the 2023 Top 50 of the Best Creative Schools in the World, and #2 in the U.S. At a time when many art and design schools have been closing their doors, Ringling College is thriving, continuing to place rigorous academics, cutting-edge tech, the very best faculty and facilities, and industry experience at the forefront of their commitment to students.
“At Ringling College of Art and Design, we consider The Rookies Global School Rankings a premier ranking leader in the digital arts,” stated Dr. Jason Good, vice president for Ringling’s Enrollment Management and Marketing. “We love partnering with an organization that builds up young creatives, prioritizes professional outcomes, and bases evaluations on the quality of student work.”
Official rankings by The Rookies are calculated based on the performance of students’ work submitted to their industry panel. According to The Rookies, “to formulate these rankings, we engaged industry-leading professionals to review student art portfolios based on criteria that encompass creative skills, technical proficiency, presentation quality, diversity of skills, project complexity, raw talent, and employment potential.” Learn more.
