TAMPA — DJ Reyes will receive the Tampa Bay Ethics Award from the Center for Ethics, part of the Sykes College of Business, at The University of Tampa at a breakfast and ceremony on Thursday, Nov. 2.
Reyes is a retired U.S. Army colonel with more than 33 years of service and is dedicated to assisting veterans after they complete their service. Earlier this year, he was appointed to the Department of Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee on Homeless Veterans, and in 2013 he established the local volunteer program Mentors for Hillsborough County Veterans to assist veterans in trouble with the law due to disorders or conditions incurred during military service. Reyes has received numerous awards and accolades, some of which include induction into the Florida Veterans Hall of Fame, the Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hero Award and the Hillsborough County Bar Association’s Liberty Bell Award.
The Tampa Bay Ethics Award from UT’s Center for Ethics celebrates integrity, virtue and character by recognizing outstanding individuals in business, professional services or government who exemplify moral qualities and the highest standards in their daily activities.
