TAMPA — The University of Tampa today announced its enrollment for the 2023-2024 academic year. This year’s total enrollment — including graduates and undergraduates — is 11,054, a new record.
All of the states and most of the world’s countries are represented in the mix of UT students, and nearly 30% of enrolled students are from diverse backgrounds which include domestic and international students. Ninety-eight percent of UT undergraduate students are full-time.
The University continues to see growth, receiving a record-setting 35,351 applications for this fall’s new entering class of 2,898 full-time undergraduate students.
W. Michael Hendricks, vice president of strategic enrollment planning, said the University’s exceptional growth in enrollment, expansion of the campus, and enhanced student selectivity in a competitive higher education market, have positioned UT as one of the nation’s premier private metropolitan universities.
“UT’s state-of-the-art campus facilities, commitment to access and affordability, enhanced student outcomes and graduation success, as well as our reputation for delivering a rich, high-quality educational experience in a diverse, inclusive environment, are reasons why The University of Tampa is the school of choice for so many students,” Hendricks said.
UT President Ronald L. Vaughn added that the University is successfully maintaining its personal attention and community feel, which have been characteristics of UT throughout its history. Also, UT added 29 new faculty positions to keep the faculty/student ratio at 1:17, as well as 20 new staff positions to assist with student support and operations.
“UT has remained an attractive destination for students seeking a distinctive, high-quality education, and an education that includes easy access to internships, community service and outstanding recreational opportunities,” Vaughn said.
The University of Tampa is a private, residential university located on approximately 110 acres on the riverfront in downtown Tampa. UT is known for academic excellence, personal attention and real-world experience in its undergraduate and graduate programs.
