Sarasota Bay Club, known for its upscale retirement living, recently hosted a heartwarming fashion show benefiting Second Heart Homes, a nonprofit dedicated to assisting formerly homeless individuals who are committed to attending to their mental health. The event featured clients from Second Heart Homes and Sarasota Bay Club residents as models, all showcasing outfits generously provided by The Exchange, a local nonprofit consignment store.
The Exchange, renowned for its commitment to the community, contributed a stunning array of clothing, creating a true runway experience. The event not only highlighted the fashion but also the spirit of unity and support within Sarasota’s community.
Joan, the Lifestyle Director at Sarasota Bay Club, played a pivotal role in coordinating the fashion show, bringing together residents, clients, and volunteers to create a memorable day filled with smiles and empowerment. “Sarasota Bay Club is proud to have helped sponsor the Second Heart Homes fashion show. We believe that we helped make all the SHH models feel special, and it showed when they walked through the Sarasota Bay Club dining room, modeling their ensembles. The men and women stood taller, exuded confidence, and radiated joy as they relished their moment in the spotlight and the sound of applause, just for them.”
This could not have been the success that it was without many local volunteers. Among these are Lathrop Ford and Eneida Hatch who helped curate for residents for both organizations. Other volunteers included professional hair and make-up artists that donated their time and talent to help everyone look their best. Some professional volunteers include Coraline Blue- Salon owner of Painted Lady Salon and professional make-up artist Lera Juno.
