
New City Budget Effective Oct. 1 Maintains Property Tax RateThe Fiscal Year 2024 City Budget totaling $76,310,953, is in effect beginning Oct. 1, and includes maintaining the City millage rate at 5.37. Capital improvement projects budgeted for 2024 include dollars for public safety, water and sewer projects, river and bayou dredging, brick street and road reconstruction, streetscaping, library and golf course improvements. The CRA budget includes dollars for incentive grants, beautification, and infrastructure projects. |
Sustainable Yard Waste Practices Begin December 1The City recently approved a change to yard waste pickup that no longer allows plastic to be used to bag yard waste and instead allows for paper and other recyclable products. The change takes effect Dec. 1, and to help with the transition, residents can pick up free paper bags Monday, Oct. 16 while supplies last. Locations are at the Public Works Sanitation Office, 325 E. Pine St., or across from the Yard Waste Facility at 898 S. Levis Ave. More information will be coming to residents over the next few months.![]() |
Sponge Docks Property Purchase Referendum on Nov. 7 BallotThe Tuesday, Nov. 7 ballot contains one question for Tarpon Springs voters: The City proposes to purchase vacant undeveloped parcels of land totaling 1.91 acres fronting Roosevelt Boulevard, Hill Street and Cross Street from Santorini Developers LLC for $1.8 million for the purpose of preservation, parkland, event space, parking, and civic uses.
