Tax Collector Mike Fasano’s five offices featured Pasco Fire Rescue’s Annual “Boot Drive” as the charitable organization for the month of August. $11,906.77 was raised during this promotional effort. This annual event benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), which is a key organization supported by Pasco Fire Rescue/ Pasco Firefighters Charities.
“It was an honor to assist Pasco Fire Rescue once again with the annual MDA Boot Drive,” comments Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “In the past our staff and a very generous community have come together to support this important organization. The “Boot Drive” brings back memories of the late Jerry Lewis’ Labor Day Telethon and the images of firefighters collecting donations for the MDA with their firefighter boots. It was a blessing that we were able to devote an entire month to helping raise funds for the MDA. We are proud to assist Pasco’s first responders as they work tirelessly to help fund research and treatment for individuals afflicted with this dreaded disease.”
“In the local Pasco community, a shining example of this commitment is the partnership between the tax collector’s office, Mike Fasano, and Firefighters Charities of Pasco,” remarks Lisa Brekke, Director of Firefighters Charities of Pasco. “For the past three years, they have lent their steadfast support to the efforts of our dedicated Pasco Firefighters, collectively raising substantial funds for this tremendous cause. As we look back on this remarkable journey that began in 1954, we see a legacy of compassion, resilience, and generosity that has touched countless lives. The Fill the Boot program continues to be a beacon of hope for those affected by neuromuscular diseases, proving that when communities unite, they can make a profound impact.”
