During the month of October, the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation will be the featured charitable giving organization at the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office. The Florida Breast Cancer Foundation’s main objectives are to advocate on behalf of patients, educate the public on all aspects of breast cancer and to provide funds for research seeking new treatments and ultimately a cure for breast cancer. For the tenth year in a row the Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office has teamed up with the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation to raise funds and heighten awareness of this disease and the treatment options available.
“We at the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation continue to expand our reach and impact through the growth of our programs which include $800,000 in annual funding for scientific research, $400,000 yearly for 3D mammograms, living expenses, and medical item programs, and more than one-hundred thousand dollars annually for education programs,” remarks Tracy Jacim, CEO of the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. “We do this with the help of partners like the Pasco County Tax Collectors Office. Thank you to Mr. Mike Fasano and team for supporting our End Breast Cancer license plate and for supporting our mission to end the suffering caused by cancer. We got this….together!”
Individuals who have automobile registration renewals coming due in October may choose to trade in their regular license plate for the “End Breast Cancer” specialty tag. Customers may also purchase the tag for newly registered vehicles. The proceeds from the tag promotion will go directly to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation to help Floridians battling this disease. Additionally, customers may choose to use the voluntary check-off box on their registration form and donate directly to the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation. The tax offices will also accept other cash donations on behalf of the Foundation.
“We are proud to once again team up with the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation to help shine a spotlight on the needs of breast cancer patients and their families,” states Tax Collector Mike Fasano. “The Foundation works tirelessly to fund institutions that work on finding a cure for breast cancer as well as creating better treatment options for breast cancer patients. The funds our office raises will contribute toward the advancement of research, new treatments, and direct support for breast cancer patients. The Pasco County Tax Collector’s Office and the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation are committed to doing all we can to stop this disease and ultimately find a cure.”
Donations can be made at any of the five tax collector locations in Pasco County.
