TAMPA, FL – Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) Tampa Bay got the inside scoop on how to successfully work alongside the media during its September Monthly Luncheon, “CRE News Through a Reporter’s Eyes: How to be a Trusted Source that Journalists Call First.” Ashley Kritzer, Real Estate Editor for the Tampa Bay Business Journal (TBBJ), and Breanne Williams, TBBJ Real Estate Reporter, discussed strategies for landing press coverage and positioning yourself as trusted media source. The fireside chat was moderated by the TBBJ’s President & Publisher, Ian Anderson.
Over 130 attendees gained valuable insight from this first-hand look at the CRE industry through the eyes of its reporters. Ashley and Breanne shared that professionals seeking media coverage on a deal should place all important information at the top of the correspondence and provide a succinct list of transactional milestones when reaching out to reporters. Although sending an email or text message is the most efficient way to contact media, meaningful in-person conversations, according to Ashley and Breanne, are the preferred way to share big real estate news and build rapport with reporters.
A special thank-you to First Onsite and the NorthBridge Commercial Real Estate Group, who sponsored this event.
