Industry Veteran Joins Team to Grow Master-Planned Community Footprint
Brandon, FL – Brookfield Properties Land & Housing has announced Len Jaffe as their new Vice President of Operations for Florida. Jaffe joins the Brookfield Land & Housing team with over 35 years of experience evaluating, securing, and developing land throughout the Southeastern United States.
Jaffe’s responsibilities will span the development cycle, starting with strategic vision and land acquisitions all the way to community development, builder programming and segmentation. Jaffe most recently led land acquisitions and fueled significant growth of David Weekley Homes, the nation’s largest privately held homebuilder in the Southeastern United States.
Brookfield Properties made headlines in 2021 with the acquisition of Newland, well-known throughout the United States for developing renowned, top-selling master-planned communities, including Tampa Bay’s FishHawk Ranch, Bexley and Waterest. Brookfield’s expanded footprint, integration of multiple development verticals and the unique development process appealed to Jaffe.
“With the power of Brookfield’s diverse portfolio, I now get to step back into envisioning and creating a purposeful sense of place for home shoppers throughout Florida,” said Jaffe. “There’s vast opportunity in several markets throughout Florida that could all benefit from the lifestyle and economic lift that a purposefully designed master-planned community can bring. My passion for land development has always gone beyond price evaluation and dealmaking.”
Over the past three decades, Jaffe has been involved and has won numerous awards, including the Urban Land Institute’s highest award for Best Large-Scale Master-Planned Community in the United States and Canada. Jaffe has also prioritized industry and community involvement. He has served as the President of the Tampa Bay Builder’s Association and is a Life Director of TBBA. He has also served on various councils for the Urban Land Institute and the allocations committee for United Way of Collier County.
