St. Petersburg, Fla. –The Morean Arts Center invites you to a triple opening night this Saturday, September 9. The three new exhibitions, Ermin Tabakovich: Transcending Space, ARTofficial Intelligence: St. Pete Robot Show, and SHINE 2023 mural exhibition debut to the public on Saturday evening from 5pm to 8pm. All of these shows are tied into St. Pete’s street art tradition and coincide with the 9th annual SHINE mural festival.
Working in partnership with Aurailieus Artist (aka Mark Stevens), Zulu Painter (aka Carlos Culbertson), and Jason Bromley, the ARTofficial Intelligence exhibition marks the 10th annual Robot Exchange exhibition, which moves locations every year. This show includes submissions from numerous mediums all circling around the theme of robotics. Many artists attend the opening reception in robot attire to match the theme. ARTofficial Intelligence is sponsored by Thrive DTSP.
Transcending Space showcases Ermin Tabakovic’s visually striking paintings.
In Tabakovic’s artist statement, he describes his work as a mixture of “vibrant colors, contrast, pure and robust geometric forms, clean lines, etc.” He adds his air of mystery and drama to each piece. “I seek to create visual paradoxes by intertwining 2D and 3D space to add tension and ambiguity.” Tabakovic stated.
The SHINE 2023 exhibition will consist of at least one work of art from all of the artists participating in the SHINE festival this year. There will be local, regional, and international artists in this exhibition.
The three exhibitions will be free to view from September 9 to October 26. The Morean Arts Center is located at 719 Central Avenue in downtown St. Petersburg.
