Aug. 21, 2023 (Bradenton, Fla.) – Bank of America recently granted $15,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County to help invest in local teens’ educational success. The grant will support Career Launch, a program that provides a broad range of tools and activities to guide teens ages 13 to 18 in exploring a variety of careers, making sound educational decisions, and preparing to enter the workforce.
“Bank of America has been, and continues to be, a strong and impactful partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County,” said Dawn Stanhope, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County. “By investing in teen programming that focuses on life skills and workforce readiness, our members are finding their true calling while having a plan for their future after high school graduation. With the current employee shortages for local businesses, it is imperative that we close the gap with disconnected youth by enhancing their skills and providing them with meaningful experiences in our community. Bank of America makes this possible through their investment of time and financial resources.”
By partnering with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County, Bank of America is providing essential financial support to help local students achieve their career goals. Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County is just one of 12 Sarasota/Manatee nonprofits the bank is supporting in the first round of economic mobility grants awarded to local nonprofits throughout the year, helping the bank drive meaningful and sustainable progress to help tackle society’s biggest challenges.
“Working with local nonprofits to provide students with career opportunities is part of our commitment to fostering economic mobility and equitable progress,” said Erik Vatter, president, Bank of America Sarasota/Manatee. “Providing this funding to Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County demonstrates how we are taking steps to provide our community the essential resources and support needed to help people succeed in today and tomorrow’s economy.”
Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County and Bank of America have worked together for over a decade to provide Manatee County’s young people with programs, guidance, and opportunities to help them realize their full potential and the possibility of a great future. In addition to their grant programs, Bank of America has supported the Clubs’ mission through board participation, hosting fundraisers, donating bicycles to the Clubs during the holidays, and providing summer interns through their Student Leaders program. Boys & Girls Clubs of Manatee County presented Bank of America Sarasota/Manatee with the 2022 Community Partnership Award in recognition of their longstanding partnership and dedication to the community’s children and teens.
