TAMPA (August 11, 2023) – On Friday, August 18, 2023, the Minority Enterprise Development Corporation (MEDC) will host a group of purchasing agents, supplier diversity professionals, and minority business specialists by motor coach to visit five minority-owned businesses in one day. There will be approximately 40 supplier diversity professionals and purchasing agents from a variety of agencies and companies on the bus. The purpose of the bus tour event is to allow business owners who could do business with these purchasing agents, to showcase their businesses while meeting the participants. The bus will visit local black-owned businesses, Envision and VoltAir of Hillsborough County, as well as other minority-owned businesses including Chosen Industries of Hillsborough County, E-Smart Recycling of Hillsborough County, and Bernd Group of Pinellas County. Additionally, MEDC will have a lunch stop, sponsored by the Florida SBDC at USF, at the Pinellas County Economic Development (PCED) building where the purchasing agents and minority business specialists will have an opportunity to interact with four more minority-owned companies while they enjoy their meals together. “MED Corp is excited to host the Minority Business Bus Tour again this year,” Machelle Maner, Executive Board President of Minority Enterprise Development Corporation said. “This event gives supplier diversity professionals and purchasing agents from large corporations and government agencies direct access to selected minority businesses, giving them the opportunity to tour the minority businesses’ facilities and interact with the owners in a private setting.” |
