TAP merges with Orlando-based tag agency OATA
St. Petersburg, Florida-based company continues its growth with expansion in Central Florida
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (July 31, 2023) – Tag Agency Professionals, Inc. (TAP), a fast-growing company that handles tag and title work for vehicle dealers in four states, has expanded in Central Florida by acquiring Orange Auto Tag Agency (OATA), an Orlando-based tag agency.
With the addition of OATA, TAP gains two new offices, in Orlando and Winter Park, along with relationships with a number of Central Florida vehicle dealers. OATA will continue to operate under its brand name while becoming part of the TAP family. Financial terms for the acquisition, which closed in early July, were not disclosed.

TAP has relationships with vehicle dealers in four states – Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Texas. Dealers work with TAP to handle the paperwork required for buyers to obtain titles and license plates for vehicles they’ve purchased.
The company also does work for banks, prime financial institutions, subprime lenders, auto auction companies, salvage companies, fleet companies and national delivery services. TAP can handle paperwork for any type of vehicle, including boats.
While OATA offers tag and title work to the public at its two Central Florida offices, TAP typically works in a business-to-business manner, with vehicle buyers corresponding with dealers throughout the process. Dealers pay TAP a fee for each service, and the company has built longstanding relationships with more than 900 dealers in its four-state area.
As a private tag agency, TAP operates under the authority of the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles in each state, and issues tags, titles and registrations in partnership with tax collectors to help them provide a high level of service to their constituents.
