TAMPA, Fla. (August 2, 2023) – As part of HCA Florida Healthcare’s first statewide We Show Up for Our Schools supply drive, HCA Healthcare West Florida Division presented a $10,000 check to the Hillsborough Education Foundation on Thursday, July 27. Division President Jyric Sims and HCA Florida South Tampa Hospital Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sonia Wellman enjoyed a tour of the Foundation’s Teaching Tools Resource Center preceding the presentation. Here full-time instructional staff in Hillsborough County Public Schools can shop for free core school supplies and resources for their classrooms and students.
“Throughout the month of July, HCA Florida Healthcare caregivers across the state have been partnering with local community organizations to collect school supplies to support our schools, teachers and students,” said President Jyric Sims. “Through their donations of time and money, they are helping to ensure children in the communities we serve have the resources they need to stay healthy and focus on learning.”
In addition to the check presentation, West Florida Division and South Tampa Hospital colleagues also collected and donated school supplies to the Foundation as part of their facility school supply drives.
