Tampa, FL (July 14, 2023) – At the request of the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), the Hillsborough County-City County Planning Commission and Hillsborough County Community and Infrastructure Planning have begun working with the community to create Valrico’s first Community Plan. As of 2022, Valrico was home to about 50,000 people, 18,000 residences, and 2,000 jobs. The Plan will be developed in a process that involves the community at each phase and discusses the special and unique characteristics of Valrico in order to: Create a communitywide visionEstablish community goalsDevelop strategies to further those goalsCreate a community concept map There will be three open houses in July, two in-person and one virtual. The community is warmly invited to join the planning team at the open houses to learn about the plan creation process, ask questions, and provide feedback.
