Largo, FL – Indian Rocks Baptist Church has announced a transition in leadership, as Dr. Aaron Filippone, from Family Church in West Palm Beach, will become the new Senior Pastor on August 6, 2023. Current Senior Pastor, Dr. Jeff Parish, shared with the personnel committee in early 2022 his desire to start a succession plan, which led to a nationwide search. The search committee’s process resulted in a church-wide vote on the weekend of April 16, 2023, confirming Dr. Aaron Filippone as the next Senior Pastor. Pastor Aaron has over 20 years of pastoral experience and has served for the past 13 years at Family Church in West Palm Beach, Florida. At Family Church, Aaron led a team of 15 campus pastors across three counties. He has a passion for sharing the Gospel and has demonstrated a commitment to teaching the Bible and building families. Aaron received his Doctor of Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he also earned a Master’s degree in Theological and Ministerial Studies. Indian Rocks Baptist Church has a rich and unbroken history of strong leadership since its founding in 1958. The church is excited to continue this legacy under Pastor Aaron’s leadership and vision for connecting Pinellas County to the message of the Gospel. Although Pastor Jeff Parish is transitioning into a new role at Indian Rocks Baptist Church, he will remain on staff, and the church is grateful for his faithful leadership and service for over a decade. A leadership celebration service has been planned for Sunday, August 6, 2023, to celebrate Pastor Jeff and his many years of ministry at Indian Rocks Baptist Church, as well as to welcome Pastor Aaron in his new role as Senior Pastor.
