Longwood Park area community cleanup set for July 22

SARASOTA COUNTY – It’s time to clean out the garage and gather discarded household items, appliances, junk, yard waste and tree trimmings as Sarasota County hosts a free community cleanup in the Sarasota area from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, July 22.  Dumpsters for residential customers will be available at the following location: Longwood Park, 6050 Longwood Run Blvd., Sarasota.  Hazardous waste, such as paint, oil, gas, auto parts, aerosol cans, electronics, appliances, computers, and tires no larger than 25 X 16, limited to four tires per household, will not be accepted.  Hazardous materials should be taken to the Sarasota County Chemical Collection Centerlocated at 8750 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday, or the Citizens’ Convenience Center, located at 4010 Knights Trail Road, Nokomis from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Saturdays.  For more information, dial 311 or visit scgov.net.
