St. Petersburg, Fla. – June 16, 2023 −HCA Florida Northside Hospital celebrated the retirement of veteran caregiver Pam Graham after 47 years of employment. Pam has worked at HCA Florida Northside Hospital since March 1976 when the hospital had been open for only two months and was known as Hubert Rutland Hospital. Pam opened our same day surgery department and was still managing the relationships with physician offices up until the day she retired. Sam Hazen, CEO of HCA Healthcare sent Pam a book written by HCA Founder Dr. Thomas Frist with a personal congratulatory note on her retirement. Pam will be missed by our caregivers, patients and physicians. The hospital held a celebration for everyone to share their well wishes with Pam including surprising her with her family in attendance. “Thomas Frist, HCA Founder, would say “Good People Beget Good People” Pam is good a person. She was a stellar employee never missing a day of work in her 47 years here,” said Valerie Powell-Stafford, CEO of HCA Florida Northside Hospital.
