SEMINOLE, Fla. (May 26, 2023) – Seminole City Center, in partnership withRotary Club of Seminole Lake and Family Support Services, continue their focus on fun and family togetherness on Friday, June 2, as part of the First Friday Seminole event. The monthly street party, held at Seminole City Center, hosts live music, giveaways, fresh food from local vendors and more from 6-9 p.m. on the main street in front of Studio Movie Grill.
Family Support Services is highlighting family preservation during June’s National Reunification Month, which recognizes the people and efforts that help children in the foster care system and their families stay together. “Having a supportive community with a strong network of resources is the best way to help keep families out of the system of care in the first place,” says Jaclyn Citarella, the agency’s Community Engagement Manager for Pasco and Pinellas counties. “In situations where a child does need a temporary foster home, we know that keeping connection with family increases the success for reunifying that family. FSS is so grateful to the awesome foster families we already have in our Suncoast community who help make these reunifications a reality – we just need more of you!” Citarella says.
Foster home specialists will be on-site during the June 2 event, and every First Friday Seminole this year, sharing information and giveaways at the Family Support Services tent.
First Friday Seminole is also the Rotary Club of Seminole Lake’s fundraiser for its Red Sled Initiative. The program provides funding and holiday gifts for children in the foster care system in Pinellas County through community-supported events including First Friday and the group’s annual Red Party, which returns later this year.
North 2 South will take the stage Friday night, offering a variety of classic rock hits to current radio favorites. The Risky Business Band (July 7) and Peace of Woodstock (Aug. 4) will round out the summer lineup.
Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, but coolers, food and drinks brought in from outside the event will not be allowed.
