Big Game James Club has donated more than 30,000 tickets for local children in foster care
Largo, Fla. (May 22, 2023) – The Rays Baseball Foundation and Family Support Services Pasco & Pinellas Counties are partnering to celebrate foster families during the May 23 matchup between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Toronto Blue Jays at Tropicana Field in honor of May’s National Foster Care Month.
The Rays host foster families and the children they support at games throughout the year through the Big Game James Club presented by United Concordia Dental, an initiative that provides suite tickets to Rays games and opportunities for youth in foster care to experience stability and connection, and support for the families who care for them. FSS foster home recruiters will be on site in the Community Corner, near Gate 3 guest services, to share foster information with fans.
Media are invited to interview a foster family and Jaclyn Citarella, FSS’ Community Engagement Manager. “Family Support Services is grateful for every person who opens their heart and home to provide a safe, temporary foster home for children in care – and with more than 2,400 children in care in the Suncoast area, the need for even more incredible foster families remains high,” says Citarella. “The more awareness we can create, the bigger impact we can make to support these children.”
WHEN: Tuesday, May 23, 2023
Gates open at 5:10 p.m.
Participating media should connect with FSS liaison Chanel Martin at 904-708-1245 once on site for guidance on which children and families are permitted to appear on camera, to protect the privacy rights of children who are still in the system of care.
Any media not familiar with Rays credentialing or game recording restrictions, please contact dweitlauf@tuckerhall.com in advance for details.
