WINTER PARK — Casey Baynes, founder of the Casey Cares Foundation providing uplifting programs for critically ill children and their families, will join John Crossman Saturday, May 20 on The Crossman Conversation, which airs at 1:05 p.m. on Shepherd Radio.
Crossman launched his talk radio show to locate and collaborate with people of all cultures and vocations who have experienced all kinds of challenges but still succeeded and found their niche. Casey Baynes’ heart was to fill a critical need in society, and she has done that through the Casey Cares Foundation a non-profit based in Columbia, Md serving families throughout eight states in the Mid-Atlantic and including Florida.
Baynes overcame many personal and business obstacles including dyslexia. At a young age she was told that school would be difficult. In spite of learning challenges, she managed to receive her AA degree before graduating high school, her Bachelor’s Degree from Salisbury University and then became Towson University’s youngest Master’s Degree recipient at age 20.
After working for several years for some children’s charitable organizations, the longtime philanthropist changed careers to help run her family’s business. But missing a sense of fulfillment, she left and followed her heart. Baynes met with hospital social workers, and parents of children fighting life-threatening illnesses to see how she could lessen their stress and make a difference. The Casey Cares Foundation was born in 2000.
“Casey has been recognized for her work nationally, has received countless accolades and even featured on Oprah. I’m thrilled to share with our listeners what the Casey Cares Foundation does for families and children with life-threatening illnesses in compassionate and caring ways,” Crossman said.
The Shepherd Radio is available on three stations, each part of the MARC Radio group. 1270 AM – WIWA in Orlando which covers the entire Central Florida area.
