Melting Pot Social® Encourages Diners to “Play” with Their Food
New causal restaurant and bar to open May 22nd from Tampa-based Front Burner, owners of Melting Pot®
TAMPA, FLORIDA (May 14, 2023) – The newest addition to downtown Tampa’s vibrant culinary scene is set to open at AVE Tampa Riverwalk, 105 W. Tyler St. as the flagship location for Melting Pot Social restaurant and bar, a fun, playful concept that matches the city’s laid-back vibe. Scheduled to open May 22nd at 4p.m., the menu is New American food and modern fondue with a melting pot of flavors. The concept is from Tampa-based Front Burner, owners of Melting Pot who have operated restaurants in Tampa Bay since 1981.
“We are thrilled to introduce our new concept to the Tampa community, which we have served for over four decades. Melting Pot Social, MeltSO for short, will be a whimsical dining experience featuring inventive craft cocktails, customizable cheese, and chocolate fondue made at fondue bars as well as meltable, craveable, and shareable plates. The inviting restaurant design is perfect to sip, dip, and eat at any time of the day, from quick bites to casual meetups to after-work drinks.” says Chief Curator, Dan Stone.
The unique cheesy dining experience features flambéed flatbreads, melted raclette and fondue burgers, mouthwatering handhelds, chef-curated entrées, and more. The menu also has create-your-own cheese and chocolate fondue served hot and melted to every table along with sweet and savory dippers like pickle fries, churros, macarons, and more.
“To pay homage to our hometown, MeltSO will introduce signature cocktails like the 813 Spritz, the TPA, and the Smoke on the Bay Old Fashioned featuring spirits from local craft distilleries. We serve local craft beer on tap, and even feature Big Storm Wavemaker as the beer base in our cheddar cheese fondue.” says Executive Chef Jason Miller.
Located in the heart of downtown Tampa just one block east of the Straz Center for the Performing Arts, MeltSO is the perfect pre- or post-playbill spot to grab a bite or cocktail. With Tampa Riverwalk, Glazer Children’s Museum, Tampa Museum of Art, and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park all within two blocks, MeltSO is the ideal complement to downtown activities. The restaurant will feature a variety of seating options including abundant patio seating on W. Tyler Street and N. Ashley Dr.
Melting Pot Social will open for dinner seven days a week starting May 22nd, weekday lunch starting May 23rd, and weekend brunch starting May 27th. Late night service on Fridays and Saturdays and weekly events like Karaoke Fridays will make it the place to be downtown. Reservations encouraged, walk-ins welcome.
