Leader in Higher Education Warnell “Johnny” Vickers, Jr is Next Guest on The Crossman Conversation Saturday May 13

May 11, 2023 by Post

WINTER PARK — Warnell “Johnny” Vickers, Jr, a Bethune-Cookman University (B-CU) alumnus who has taken his experiences and passion for education to motivate others to excel, will join the Crossman Conversation Saturday, May 13 at 1:05 p.m. on the Shepherd network.

Vickers’ experience in education spans two decades of working for the Volusia County Schools, B-CU and Daytona State College. He also works as a volunteer and mentor within his community. He has an accomplished career of working with youth and young adults and regularly captivates audiences with his unique style of presentation.

The Florida native received a BA degree in Mass Communications and a minor in Religion and Philosophy. During those courses of study at B-CU he was a member of their MEAC Conference winning football team. Vickers says it was the lessons he learned on the field that started molding him into a leader. He earned his Master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Leadership for Higher Education at Capella University and a Masters of Christian Ministry at his undergraduate alma mater B-CU.

Warnell stresses the value of education not only for professional goals and successes but also to gain the ability to manage life. He also believes that a spiritual education is equally as important as a conventional education as the two together create an emotional balance to manage and maintain success at life in today’s society.

“Johnny is such an accomplished leader and so passionate about sharing his wisdom. I am delighted and honored to host this conversation, which may inspire listeners to reach for their goals and full potential,” Crossman said.

The Shepherd Radio is available on three stations, each part of the MARC Radio group. 1270 AM – WIWA in Orlando which covers the entire Central Florida area. In the Ocala/Villages area, The Shepherd is heard on 103.5 FM and 720 AM, while Gainesville listeners can hear the broadcast on 96.3 FM or 1430 AM.
