On May 3, 2023, the Inaugural Day of Giving will provide much-needed funds to help ensure tens of thousands of animals get the loving care they deserve.
Tampa, Fla., May 2nd, 2023 – As part of its unrelenting mission to help vulnerable animals find a home, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay will hold its 2023 Day of Giving on May 3, 2023.
The Day of Giving is in celebration of Be Kind to Animals Week® (May 1-7, 2023) which is dedicated to gathering millions of Americans to voice their concern for and improve the wellness, welfare, and well-being of animals.
The inaugural Day of Giving aims to raise awareness for homeless animals in need, as well as support the many services that the Humane Society of Tampa Bay offers. All gifts will also be matched up to $15,000.
“Every animal that comes through our doors deserves the best care and this inaugural Day of Giving will help us continue to fulfill our critical mission,” said Sherry Silk, CEO of the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. “The cost of medical services and supplies required to treat and care for animals in need continues to increase, so we hope our cherished supporters will take this opportunity to make a positive difference.”
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The Humane Society of Tampa Bay operates independently of The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) or ASPCA and relies on the generosity of donations and community volunteers. Eighty-seven cents of every dollar donated goes directly toward services provided to animals in need, including the shelter facility, TNVR, affordable medical care, and adoptions. Community services, such as free dog and cat food and rabies shots, are also funded by generous donations.
