SAK Enterprises worked closely with the team at John’s Hopkins All Children’s Hospital to develop custom flood prevention and mitigation measures so they can stand firm against whatever storm waters may approach this hurricane season.
In 2018, the team at John’s Hopkins All Children’s Hospital watched a video on how storm surges can impact a building just after learning that FEMA made some changes to the flood maps around the facility. The team was concerned about the potential vulnerability at their loading dock area and their Central Energy Plant. Because of the importance of keeping the equipment operational, the decision was made to mitigate any flood event with SAK Enterprises’ Flood Barrier systems. After a few years of extensive research and working together, SAK Enterprises’ flood mitigation systems were installed at this facility to protect the loading dock and storage rooms behind the dock. The Central Energy Plant is now protected as well so the system can remain operational during a flood event.
