Arts Conservatory for Teens (ACT) is pleased to announce its 11th Annual Champions for ACT Breakfast presented by BayFirst Financial. This year will feature Fashion Trends hosted by Neiman Marcus along with performances from the Bay Area’s top rising stars and ACT students.
Champions for ACT Breakfast, an empowering morning of music, art, and inspiration, will be held on
Thursday, April 27th, from 8-9:30 am at The Floridian Social Club in Downtown St. Petersburg. The
organization’s annual signature fundraising event helps to support ACT’s mission to improve the lives of teens by providing arts education to underserved public schools and communities.
Hosted by ACT Co-Founder Dr. Alex Harris, the celebration will feature some of ACT’s most accomplished alumni. Expect cameos and surprise guest performances from community leaders, including celebrated musicians, business and civic leaders, and philanthropic leaders.
Arts Conservatory for Teens creates clear ‘Pathways’ for career success as the first out-of-school-time creative workforce development incubator in the local region. Dr. Alex Harris says, “our team is dedicated to serving underrepresented communities throughout our region. We use creative technology and the performing and visual arts as catalysts to prepare students for high school graduation, higher education, and the creative workforce. Many of our students have cultivated their gifts and talents and gone on to the likes of Berklee College of Music and Otterbein University, establishing careers in television, film, music entertainment, and performing on Broadway.”
Seeing a need in the local community for teens, Harris, and his team developed an interdisciplinary
curriculum that strongly appeals to teenagers, providing engaging, educational, empowering, and
culturally enriching programming. The model developed is not a typical after-school “program.” It is
strategically career-focused, innovative, and life-changing. Since its inception, Arts Conservatory for
Teens has helped to change the lives of over 13,000 students.
