TAMPA CRA and TECO to Debut Ybor City’s New 7th Avenue Archway Lights

What: Ybor City’s iconic lighted archways that have spanned 7th Avenue for over three decades underwent an aesthetic rejuvenation and were converted to environmentally sustainable LED lights. This project also included new TECO poles and sidewalk enhancements.

Who: Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, Community Redevelopment Agency Board Member and City Council Chairman Joseph Citro, and TECO President Archie Collins are attending.

Why: The Ybor City CRA partnered with TECO and the City of Tampa to replace the deteriorated iconic 7th Avenue lighted archways originally installed in 1990, with more structurally sound archways and LED technology. TECO poles were replaced, and all are now black-coated to match the aesthetics of the district.

Who Should Attend: Media, government officials, residents, businesses, families, and friends.

When: Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 11:00 am.

Where: Centro Ybor (7th Avenue and 16th Street)

Media Parking Location: South and north sides of 15th Street off 7th Avenue
