Lutz, FL, March 27, 2023 – Steinbrenner Theatre presents the musical comedy, The Addams Family, Thursday, April 20 through Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Steinbrenner High School in Lutz.
The music and lyrics are by Andrew Lippa with book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice. The story is based on the characters created by Charles Addams.
The Addams Family, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family — a man her parents have never met. And if that weren’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
The Steinbrenner Theatre production is directed by Brady Brady, is music directed by Jeff Dyal, and is choreographed by Kim Florio. Brady stated that the set design may be the largest Steinbrenner Theatre has ever seen. “I am proud of the collaboration between our teaching artistic team and our students. They have all worked incredibly hard to bring this production to life,” said Brady.
