BRADENTON, Fla., March 23, 2023 – The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) recognizes the Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller (Clerk) for its exemplary financial reporting for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2021, with a series of financial reporting awards. The Clerk has been awarded the Triple Crown Medallion for the third year in a row, the highest recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. Moreover, the Clerk has been awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and Port Authority Annual Comprehensive Report and a Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award for its Popular Annual Financial Report.
The GFOA has awarded the Clerk’s office the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the County’s ACFR for the 43rd consecutive year. An impartial panel judged the County’s ACFR to determine whether the Clerk’s office met the program’s high standards, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of transparency and full disclosure” that clearly communicates the information that users need to assess the financial health of the County government themselves.
The Clerk’s office has also received the Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award for its Popular Annual Financial Report for the 24th consecutive year. The Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award is a prestigious national award that recognizes conformance with the highest standards for preparing state and local government Popular reports.
The Clerk’s office has also been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Port Authority Annual Comprehensive Report for the 29th year by GFOA.
Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller Angel Colonneso expressed her honor to receive these recognitions from the Government Finance Officers Association. These awards demonstrate the Clerk’s office’s commitment to transparency in governmental financial reporting in accordance with the Governmental Accounting Standards.
