HUDSON, Fla (March 21, 2023) – HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital has been recognized by Healthgrades as a 2023 Patient Safety Excellence Award™ recipient, a distinction which places the 320-bed hospital among the top 10% of the nation’s short-term acute care hospitals.
Healthgrades, a highly-respected online resource connecting patients and providers, awards hospitals based on patient safety indicators as defined by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

HCA Florida Bayonet Point also is the recipient of 2023 Healthgrades awards for America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Orthopedic Surgery, America’s 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery, and America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Vascular Surgery. Other accolades include Healthgrades Excellence Awards for Gastrointestinal Surgery and Surgical Care.

Most recently, HCA Florida Bayonet Point was designated as a Verified Level 2 Trauma Center for its 24-hour immediate coverage by general surgeons, as well as coverage in the specialties of orthopedic surgery, neurosurgery, anesthesiology, emergency medicine, radiology and critical care. Verification is a voluntary process awarded by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (COT) to trauma centers that meet the most stringent criteria outlined in the COT’s Resources for Optimal Care of the Injured Patient manual.
It also opened a 30-bed in-patient rehabilitation center, the first new service to open in the hospital’s $80-million patient tower.
