March 6, 2023 -Ten beautiful gardens featuring 13 artists and an array of musical entertainment will be on display for the public during the Art in the Garden Tour Saturday, April 15 from 1-4 pm.
The Historic Old Northeast neighborhood is famous for its array of historic home styles, quaint brick streets and beautiful oak tree canopies. What might not be as well-known is the abundance of beautiful residential gardens, artists, and musicians. All three will be featured during the inaugural tour sponsored by the Historic Old Northeast Neighborhood Association (HONNA).
Garden styles on display will range from contemporary to lush tropical to cozy bungalow hideaways. Local artists will be exhibiting their work in the gardens, ranging from oil and watercolor painting to ceramics to photography.
Local musicians, including a harpist, two guitarists, keyboard player, flautist, and pianist will add to the visitors’ total sensory experience.
An assortment of local food and drink options to quench thirsts and satisfy appetites will be available for purchase.
Tour tickets will be available starting March 15 and will cost $30, children under 12 free. Tickets will be limited and there will be no day-of ticket sales. All proceeds will go toward replenishing the Old Northeast’s lush street tree canopy. Tickets will be for sale at HONNA.org and at the following retail outlets: Lida’s Jungle, Willow Tree Nursery, Dolan’s Garden Center, Jene’s Nursery & Tropicals, Articles, Sunken Gardens.
