SARASOTA, Fla. — Elizabeth Moore Sarasota Open recently announced a partnership with Coastal Orthopedics, a full-service provider of comprehensive orthopedic surgery, sports medicine, spine care, pain management, diagnostic imaging and physical therapy service, for its 2023 tennis tournament.
Dr. R. Stephen Otte will serve as the on-site physician for the event activities taking place April 9-16, 2023, at Payne Park in the City of Sarasota.
During the tournament week, Dr. Otte and providers from Coastal Orthopedics will assist with any medical issues that arise amongst the players, including evaluating injuries to make sure competitors are fit to continue the tournament and completing appropriate documents for medical disqualification.
This is the second year Dr. Otte has been chosen as the on-site physician for the Elizabeth Moore Sarasota Open. Previously he was selected as the on-site physician for the 2021 PGA Tour’s World Golf Championships-Workday Championship at The Concession Golf Club.
“I am honored to be chosen again by the Elizabeth Moore Sarasota Open to be the on-site physician during the event,” said Dr. Otte. “Assisting with these types of sporting events is a real passion for me, and I’m looking forward to working with the many talented athletes competing in this year’s tournament.”
The professional tennis tournament has been hosted in Sarasota since 2009. This year marks the second year the event is being held under new ownership. The new owners represent some of the most successful tennis event organizers in the world and last year, more than 10,000 people attended the week-long event.
The annual event is played on outdoor green clay courts and is part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger Tour. With a huge economic impact, the tournament also brings top-tier tennis talent to the area.
A number of area businesses have already committed as sponsors, including Art Avenue, City of Sarasota, Coastal Orthopedics, Dimmitt Automotive Group, Firkins Auto Group, FPL, Gold Coast Eagle Distributing, Magnolia Pointe Hotel & Suites, Mallory Agency, Premier Live, Remington Reynolds, Sandy Bay Partners, Tommy’s Express Car Wash and Visit Sarasota, with Elizabeth Moore being the title sponsor and Fifth Third Bank sponsoring the VIP lounge.
A limited number of sponsorship opportunities still remain. Interested individuals should contact Casey Brown at case@remingtonreynolds.com.
