Cordelia Cranshaw, Coach, Author, Storyteller & Miss District of Columbia 2019 to speak at the Annual Child Abuse Awareness Benefit

March 6, 2023 by Post

Once again inspiring and educating the community, this year’s Child Abuse Awareness Benefit will feature Keynote Cordelia Cranshaw, Coach, Author, Storyteller & Miss District of Columbia 2019. The riveting event, hosted by Friends of Joshua House Foundation, will take place from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the Gathering, Tampa Armature Works, 1910 Ola Avenue, Tampa, FL 33602.

Cordelia Cranshaw may be a social worker by profession, but she is an advocate by destiny. Having
spent a combination of eight years in the foster care system, aging out at 18, she earned a Master of
Social Work degree at 22 years old. Winning the Miss District of Columbia USA 2019 was part of her
strategy to promote her mission to give voice to those less fortunate. Working as a Licensed Graduate Social Worker, Cordelia is also the CEO and founder of ARK, Acts of Random Kindness, a nonprofit program that provides services and resources to children and families facing life challenges, including incarcerated parents, homelessness, and foster care. Cordelia uses her professional skills and life experiences to advocate for various social justice reforms related to the child welfare system. She is a
true inspiration.

The luncheon benefits Joshua House, which provides services to foster children throughout Tampa Bay, and is well known as one of Florida’s premier therapeutic programs for children who have been abused, abandoned, and neglected. These children have been removed from their homes due to crisis and many have been through multiple foster homes. The caring and dedicated staff and volunteers at Joshua House provide homelike environments, love, nurturing and stability for every child in their care.

Tickets are for the luncheon $60 per person, with table sponsorships beginning at $1000.00. For further information on tickets or Corporate Sponsorship, please contact us at Dannielle Roque
at droque@joshuahousetampa.org or 813-235-3759.
