Family Support Services Joins First Friday at Seminole City Center Starting March 3

March 3, 2023 by Post

Seminole Lake Rotary Club’s monthly event benefits children in foster care system

SEMINOLE, Fla. (March 2, 2023) – Family Support Services of Pasco & Pinellas Counties joins the First Friday fun this month at Seminole City Center to raise money for children in foster care. Patrons of the First Friday Seminole street party, now in its third year, will enjoy live music, fresh food and drinks, giveaways and more from 6-9 p.m. on the main street in front of Studio Movie Grill.

Seminole Lake Rotary Club’s monthly event isn’t just a good time – it’s for a good cause. The group partners with City Center to raise funds for its Red Sled Initiative, which provides funding and holiday gifts for children in the foster care system in Pinellas County through community-supported events including First Friday and its annual Red Party, which returns later this year.

“We’re proud of the work we’re able to do for local children and families,” said Gerry Cachia, First Friday Seminole Event Coordinator for the Rotary Club of Seminole Lake. “The community support has been incredible, and in this partnership with Family Support Services, we know we can continue to impact so many lives. With First Friday, we can connect with our neighbors and have fun and still have this important message.”

“Family Support Services is excited to be part of an event that brings people together for fun and philanthropy,” said Jaclyn Citarella, FSS’ Community Engagement Manager for Pasco and Pinellas counties. “FSS is always looking for fresh ways to connect with our community, and partnerships like with Rotary Club of Seminole Lake make it possible for us to support and expand programs for local children and families.”

The entertainment on Friday, March 3, will be in 1950’s-60’s rock-and-roll style courtesy of The Authentics; The Sequel Band (April 7), Crossfire Creek Band (May 5) and Santana and Grand Funk Railroad Tribute (June 2) will appear in coming months. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs, but coolers, food and drinks brought in from outside the event will not be allowed.
