
My Safe Florida Home Program Helps Residents Prepare for Hurricanes A new program provides assistance to single family homeowners to protect their homes against hurricanes. The MySafeFLHome program offers free home inspections, and grants or loans for home strengthening improvements. In addition, tax exemptions are provided for home-hardening projects, and through June 30, 2024, sales tax is exempt on hurricane resistant doors and windows. The program was enacted during the recent Special Session of the Florida Legislature. Welcome New Business: The Gilded Page The City welcomes a new bookstore to Downtown. The Gilded Page opened in mid-February at 155 E. Tarpon Ave. The local, independent bookstore is owned by Julia Bodwell, an accomplished author, musician, and educator. Located on the second floor of the building, the store features comfortable reading rooms which encourages spending time and perusing the books. All types of books are offered, from best sellers and popular novels to obscure titles. ![]() City Hosts Career Fair to Recruit for Job Opportunities The City is hosting a Career Fair Thursday, March 16, 4-7 p.m. at the Tarpon Springs Community Center, 400 S. Walton Ave. The Fair is open for anyone interested in learning about job opportunities and careers with the City. Representatives from Water and Sewer, Public Works, Police, Fire, Recreation, and more will be on hand recruiting for open positions within the City. Tarpon Ave. Senorita Gourmet offers a wide array of macarons and goodies baked fresh daily.
