Episode to premier March 11 and highlight camping, manatee tours, cycling and more
CRYSTAL RIVER, Fla. (March 1, 2023) – Discover Crystal River Florida, the official tourism bureau of Citrus County, has sponsored an episode of the hit show “RV There Yet?” on Discovery Channel. The TV and film crew visited Citrus County in February to explore Crystal River, Homosassa and Inverness during a five-day itinerary of camping, airboats, cycling, horseback riding, manatee tours, kayaking, dining, and more. The half-hour episode featuring Crystal River and Inverness premiers Saturday, March 11, at 8 a.m. (ET) on Discovery Channel. The episode will also air Saturday, June 10, at 7:30 a.m. on MotorTrend.
“We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to promote Citrus County to Discovery Channel’s national audience, especially the growing and enthusiastic RV crowd,” said John Pricher, director of Discover Crystal River Florida. “It was an affordable and strategic media buy, and allowed us to highlight all of Citrus County, including 10 local partner businesses. We’re excited to see it on March 11, and for the episode to be available on YouTube, Amazon Prime, ROKU, Facebook, DiscoveryGO, SlingTV and fuboTV.”
According to the show’s website, Season Two of “RV There Yet?” will take viewers along on a road trip to explore America, featuring wild adventures, crazy detours, and campfire fun along the way. Viewers will buckle up and hit the road with television producer and adrenaline junky Producerman Kevin, and his wife Patrice, a self-proclaimed RV culinary expert. The couple hikes, camps, and tastes their way across America, meeting new people, learning history, creating memories, and inspiring viewers to plan their next RV adventure.
“Our trip to Crystal River and exploring the Nature Coast of Florida was better than we ever imagined,” said Patrice McCabe, COO of McCabe Productions Inc. “We live in Lutz, so the hour-long RV drive was easy, but it felt like we drove right into old Florida. Our first venture out was to Wild Bill’s Airboat Tours where we met Steve and Dave, our pilots for the day. We loaded up two airboats (me and Kevin in one and the crew in the other) and set out for some fast fun!”
Later in their trip, Kevin and Patrice took a manatee tour. “They’re swimming right up to both of us, they’re checking us out,” she said. “I froze. I even forgot to breathe at one point. They are enormous, gentle giants and fascinating creatures. We had mamas with their pups all around us, just floating, sinking to the bottom, coming up for air and to check us out. It was an absolutely amazing and exhilarating experience.”
The sponsorship was made in partnership with the Citrus County Tourism Development Council. While the film crew was in town, the team at Discover Crystal River Florida accompanied them through Citrus County, highlighting bucket-list locations to visit with their iconic RV Winnebago. The “RV There Yet?” episode will showcase the various businesses visited, as well as all the great things to do when in the area.
