Flagship Bank Opens New Tarpon Springs Branch, Expanding Community Banking Services in Tampa Bay
CLEARWATER, Fla., Feb. 24, 2023 – Flagship Bank, a subsidiary of West Florida Bank Corporation, marked a new chapter in its growth and commitment to the Tampa Bay area with the official opening of a new Tarpon Springs branch in a ribbon-cutting ceremony yesterday. The new branch strengthens the bank’s presence in the Tampa Bay area and further advances Flagship’s goal of becoming Tampa Bay’s preeminent community bank by making long-term growth investments to better serve small to mid-sized businesses as well as individual account holders.
The new branch building, located at 1101 S. Pinellas Ave., Tarpon Springs, FL 34689, was opened with a ribbon cutting by Paul J. Wikle, chairman of the board for Flagship Bank and West Florida Bank Corporation, and Robert McGivney, CEO, Flagship Bank, and vice chairman of the board. The event was attended by dignitaries that consisted of local lawmakers, government executives, law enforcement chiefs, judges, and other leaders.
“We’re privileged to be in a position to serve the rapidly growing banking needs of Tampa Bay with the expansion of our Tarpon Springs branch,” said Wikle. “The Tampa Bay area is continuing to experience a period of continued growth requiring greater and more diversified financial services. Our new facility not only delivers the latest technologies for quick, easy, and secure banking to meet these needs, but it also offers our customers a more inviting environment for face-to-face interactions and discussions on our banking services.”
The new facility replaces a smaller office opened in 2020 with one that includes a free-standing building with over 3,300 square feet and one that allows for more office space and advanced technology infrastructure to support Flagship’s full range of customer, digital, and online services. Senior Vice President and Retail Market Manager Anna Billiris will oversee the location and be supported by four full-time employees.
“Opening this new Tarpon Springs office reaffirms our commitment to serving our local community,” said McGivney. “In addition to ensuring we offer the latest technology and the highest level of convenience, we take pride in offering in-person services at our branches. Although a lot of people prefer to do banking online, which is perfectly fine, when people want to talk about a loan or mortgage, they often want to talk face-to-face to someone who can give them assurance that they’re asking the right questions, and that they’re getting the right answers. At our new Tarpon Springs branch, as well as at all our other branch locations, this is one of the many value-added services we offer.”
Flagship also has five other branches, in Clearwater, Oldsmar, Largo, St. Petersburg and West Pasco County, which opened last June.
