WINTER PARK — Charlie Ward, College Football Hall of Fame honoree, 1993 Heisman Trophy winner who then played 12 seasons with the NBA, will join John Crossman Saturday, Feb. 18 at 1:05 p.m. on The Crossman Conversation.
Ward’s storied career began at Florida State University where he played both basketball and football all four years and won every award he was eligible for. After winning the Heisman and leading his team to Bobby Bowden’s first national title in the Orange Bowl, Ward was a first-round draft pick by the NY Knicks and led them to the finals. He coached and mentored students throughout his professional career and currently is a high school basketball coach for Florida State University High Schools in Tallahassee. The Athlete, a complete biography of Ward, has been heralded as a portrayal of one of the greatest modern athletes in the world.
After all of his accomplishments, Ward continues to remain humble, grounded and committed to serve God and his community. He and his wife of over 25 years, Tonja, with three children Caleb, Hope and Joshua, established a family foundation that supports youth development, programs, churches and organizations. He is highly sought after for his leadership message, his motivating and inspiring keynote addresses and workshops presented around the world to teams, churches and businesses.
“I’m so excited for our next guest to share his inspiration with our listeners. We need more Charlie Wards in the world!”
Crossman, a regular speaker on diversity in business, launched The Crossman Conversation to collaborate with, and get perspectives of accomplished people like Ward who have faced challenges and made tough decisions to achieve career goals and yet consistently give back to the community.
