| SARASOTA COUNTY – Most Sarasota County Government offices will be closed Monday, Feb. 20, for the national observance of Presidents Day. Closed on Monday, Feb. 20: The Sarasota County Transit administration office. Libraries and Historical Resources’ branches and administrative office. Mosquito Management, Veteran, and Health and Human Services centers and administrative offices. Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources recreation centers and the Knights Trail Park pistol and rifle range. The administrative offices at the Central County Landfill, 4000 Knights Trail Road, and the Bee Ridge Chemical Collection Center, 8750 Bee Ridge Road. Sarasota County’s Chemical Collection Center and The Re-Uz-It Shop, 8750 Bee Ridge Road. The Chemical Collection Center, 250 S. Jackson Road, is closed indefinitely due to the impacts from Hurricane Ian. Operating normal hours on Monday, Feb. 20: Transit bus services, Transit Plus, OnDemand, and the Siesta Key Breeze will operate normal hours. The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County. Curbside collection services for trash, recycling and yard waste will not be affected by the holiday and remain on the regular pickup schedule. Because collection times vary, residents should place materials at the curb by 6 a.m. the day of pickup.
