Venice, FL – February 10, 2023 – Family Promise of South Sarasota County (FPSSC) is delighted to have received a generous $5,000 grant from Harold & Jacqueline Bladel Charitable Trust for the Bridge Housing Program. The Bladel Foundation has been a supporter of the Bridge Housing Program since 2019 with annual grants to support this shelter program. The Bridge Housing Program is a 60–90-day shelter program where families receive housing and meals through the support of local church congregations while working with a case manager to set and work toward goals, take financial and budgeting classes, work toward permanent housing and build financial independence. All grant funds will be used to provide services to working families and their children in the program. There is no provision for direct cash payments to guest families.
Jennifer Fagenbaum, Executive Director of Family Promise of South Sarasota County stated, “With the help of this grant from the Bladel Foundation, Family Promise will be able to continue to offer our shelter program to children and their families during this incredibly difficult housing crisis in Sarasota County. Hardworking families are facing multiple challenges trying to find affordable housing to remain in our county. While Family Promise continues to work to create sustainable workforce housing, families are still struggling and find themselves without stable housing. We are truly grateful for the ongoing support of the Bladel Foundation to assist us in ensuring homelessness is rare, brief, and non-recurring.”
