TPO Board to Consider Amendments to the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)

Amendments Would Fund a New HART Maintenance Facility and FDOT Projects
 
Tampa, FL – The Hillsborough Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) will consider amendments to the Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) for fiscal years 2022/23 – 2026/27 to fund a new HART maintenance facility and FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) projects for lighting and resurfacing, I-4 Truck Parking, and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The amendment for the new HART maintenance facility will roll forward $4 million in unprogrammed funds and reallocate $9.22 million from other projects to the facility.

The FDOT amendments will cover the following projects: 
Parking expansion at I-4 Eastbound and I-4 Westbound Weigh Stations
The addition of new lighting on State Road 60 from US 41 to US 301
Resurfacing of South Dale Mabry Highway from Pinewood St. to Ballast Point Blvd.
Installation of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure at unspecified locations along I-4 

The TPO will consider the amendments at its board meeting on February 8, 2023, at 10 a.m. At the meeting, the public can comment on the amendment or in advance of the meeting through February 7 via email to tpo@plancom.org; mail to Hillsborough TPO, Attn: Cheryl Wilkening, 601 E.
