WHAT: Registration for summer camps and classes

DETAILS: Registration is now open for Patel Conservatory dance, music and theater summer camps and classes, which begin the week of May 30. Dozens of camps and classes are offered for students of all ages and experience levels.
Camps and classes vary from a trumpet workshop to world drumming and storytelling to a singer songwriter camp, from Shakespearean acting to musical theater intensives and stage management, and from ballet to jazz dance. A complete line up is available at www.patelconservatory.org.
Some summer camps and classes require auditions. Registration for auditions is required by visiting www.strazcenter.org/auditions or by calling 813.222.1040. All Patel Conservatory summer experiences require active learning participation by campers and result in an in-class showcase or ticketed performance element.
Summer Camp informational Open Houses will be held Saturday, March 25, from 9 to 10 a.m. and Monday, May 22, from 6 to 7 p.m.
The Conservatory provides scholarships to students and families whose participation might otherwise be limited. Scholarships typically cover a percentage of tuition and are available online at www.strazcenter.org/financialaid. Scholarship applications are due by April 2.

A 10 percent early bird discount will be given for many camps and classes to those who register by Feb. 26.
