HUDSON, Fla. (January 30, 2023) – HCA Florida Bayonet Point Hospital announces Joseph Maslak, M.D., MHA, FACP has joined the facility as Chief Medical Officer (CMO). Dr. Maslak has an impressive track record with more than 13 years of medical staff leadership experience and 23 years of clinical experience as an internal medicine hospitalist and primary care physician.
“We are very excited to have Dr. Maslak join the Bayonet Point Hospital team,” said CEO Gina Temple. “His focus on quality, clinical expertise, collaboration and physician alignment will be instrumental to our ongoing growth and success as we move forward with the opening of our 30-bed Inpatient Rehabilitation service on March 1 followed by the opening of the second and third floors of our new patient tower in late spring.”
Dr. Maslak comes to Bayonet Point Hospital from HCA Florida Citrus Hospital where he has successfully served as CMO since October 2021. Prior to joining HCA Healthcare, Dr. Maslak was the Regional Medical Staff President at the University of Colorado Health – Southern Colorado. There he led a team of 1,400 medical staff members for a health system that included a 415-bed tertiary teaching hospital with a Level I Trauma Center and a 100-bed community hospital with a Level III Trauma Center. Other leadership experience includes serving in a wide range of roles including senior medical director of adult internal medicine, chief of staff and chief of internal medicine.
Dr. Maslak received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from LeMoyne College before attending St. George’s University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency at Albany Medical Center and most recently earned an Executive Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) at the University of Southern California. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP) and member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
