SORRENTO — Blackton, Inc., one of Central Florida’s largest and most active suppliers of materials for the homebuilding industry, was awarded a contract from Stanley Martin Homes to provide flooring for Sorrento Pines, a new single-family home community in Lake County.
Micky Blackton, chief executive officer of the Orlando-based firm, said the contract with the Reston, VA-based homebuilder includes all flooring materials for its 140 three, four and five-bedroom homes planned for the new development located at 33406 C.R. 437 in Sorrento.
Blackton said his firm expanded its Leesburg location last year by 10,000 square feet to provide all new and long-time customers who build in Lake, Sumter, Marion, Alachua and Citrus counties with a better turnaround time.
The family-owned business headquartered on Alden Road north of downtown Orlando opened its newest branch location last year in Holly Hill, serving the Volusia-Flagler and Brevard areas. They have been supplying the home building industry from Jacksonville to Tampa for over 65 years.
Work on models at Sorrento Pines got underway this month. Stanley Martin’s homes in a variety of designs starting from 1,350 to 2,856 square feet of living space are priced from the $300s.
