The Hubbard family is regarded as the premier fishing family in Pinellas County. With several hundred combined years on local waters, it goes without saying that they are experts when it comes to fishing vessels. In an effort to grow their fleet, their ferry routes, and their business, they have expanded into vessel fabrication. Hubs Marine Fabrication will be Christening and launching its second locally and family-built vessel this week. The 49-foot, 49-passenger, coast guard approved, fast-ferry snorkeling vessel – Model HUBCat49, is slated for a passenger route that will run from the New Bay Pier in Fort Desoto to Egmont Key State Park.
“I am very happy to move into the area of fabrication of vessels adding all our knowledge over the years to produce a premium, functional, economical, vessel that will serve us and our industry for years to come,” said Captain Mark Hubbard. Hubs Marine Fabrication will be fabricating vessels not only to build on Hubbard’s Marina expanding fleet but also vessels for distribution in the United States and the Caribbean.
Media and local officials are invited to the Christening and Launch.
