Two Guests on the next Crossman Conversation highlight new expanded Holocaust Museum coming soon to downtown Orlando

January 18, 2023 by Post

WINTER PARK — This Saturday, Jan. 21 at 1:05 p.m. the Crossman Conversation hosted by Florida Business Leader John Crossman, will present two guests who will share the important work they have been doing for Central Florida with the expansion of The Holocaust Center a 501 (c) 3 organization.

Established as a resource and education center by Holocaust survivor Tess Wise in 1986 on the Maitland campus of the Jewish Community Center, the 7,000 square foot facility for many years has not received the exposure – to visitors especially students – that it deserves.

Since last summer when she took the reins, CEO Talli Dippold has been overseeing planning for The Holocaust Museum for Hope & Humanity, a new 43,000 square foot building set to break ground in 2024 in downtown Orlando. The City of Orlando invited the new Holocaust Museum to be part of downtown Orlando’s cultural district along with its art, science and history museums.

Dippold along with Holocaust Museum for Hope & Humanity’s VP of Marketing and Development Kathy Turner will bring Crossman and listeners up to date on progress of the much-needed expansion, rebranding and important stories that visitors – students, residents and tourists — will be learning there.

Dippold who was born in Israel, received the Philip G. Solomon Prize for Holocaust Studies upon graduation as valedictorian with her master’s in Holocaust and genocide studies from Gratz College. She worked with the governor of North Carolina to make Holocaust education mandatory in that state.

Turner has been with the Holocaust museum based in Maitland more than three years. She holds an MBA and MHA from The University of St. Francis and previously served at AdventHealth (Formerly Florida Hospital) for nearly 14 years, most recently as their Senior Development Officer.

The Shepherd Radio is available on three stations, each part of the MARC Radio group. 1270 AM – WIWA in Orlando which covers the entire Central Florida area. In the Ocala/Villages area, The Shepherd is heard on 103.5 FM and 720 AM, while Gainesville listeners can hear the broadcast on 96.3 FM or 1430 AM.
