SARASOTA, FL – The Central West Coast chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (CWC-FPRA) will present the professional development event “Rebranding: From Research to Reality (A Step-by-Step Approach to Designing and Launching Your New Brand)” on Wednesday, January 18, 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The event – which is open to members and guests – takes place at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties (3130 Fruitville Road, Sarasota).

The program will feature a panel of subject matter experts: Murray Devine, Consultant/Web Developer, Make|Believe Design; Sharon Kunkel, APR, President, Wordslinger Marketing & PR; Paula Murray, Principal, Artefact Design / Co-Founder, Synergy Studios; and Martha Wells, Project Coordinator, Carter. The panel will take attendees through the rebranding process: internal and external research; translating mission and message into a new visual brand; considerations for website navigation and design; and the comprehensive rebrand “to-do” list – including public relations activities.

Murray Devine is an award-winning marketing professional and designer who believes in the power of strategic communications as a tool to drive social change, advance society, and help enterprises thrive. Sharon Kunkel, APR, has extensive marketing and public relations experience, focused primarily on helping nonprofit clients to improve lives and strengthen their communities. Paula Murray is a design expert who partners with clients in education, the arts, health care, human services, and the environment, helping to reinvigorate existing organizations and brands, develop capital and programmatic campaigns, and design event, fundraising, and recruitment collateral. Martha Wells has more than 30 years of fundraising and strategic communications experience in nonprofit, corporate and agency environments.

“Rebranding is a complex and rigorous undertaking, and one that few practitioners can take on alone as it requires skills that cross traditional professional lines,” says Sheryl Vieira, president of CWC-FPRA. “This panel will be able to expertly tag-team this topic as well as to provide encouragement to those who may be embarking on a rebrand that it can be done – and successfully.”

Tickets are $30/members, $40/future members; cost includes lunch. To register, visit cwcfpra.com/events. CWC-FPRA’s annual corporate sponsors are Caldwell Trust Company and Next-Mark. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto counties have graciously donated their venue as an in-kind sponsor.

CWC-FPRA meets monthly for professional development luncheons and networking. These events are designed to expose attendees to current public relations practices and developments in the communications industry. Visit cwcfpra.com for more information.
