Bradenton, Fla: Liberty Saving Bank donated $3,000 to Manatee County Habitat for Humanity. The kind donation will be used to underwrite the costs of a financial
counseling service for the nonprofit’s prospective and current homeowners.
The local bank has given to Manatee Habitat for the past 18 years as a part of their initiative to invest in the future of the Manatee-Sarasota county community. Lauren
Fuller, financial center manager at Liberty Savings Bank, serves as the board secretary for the organization and is passionate about the mission.
“The value that Manatee County Habitat For Humanity provides to our community goes beyond the interest-free homes they provide,” said Fuller. “The financial counseling that this donation will support is just one example of how invested in the future of the community they really are.”
Along with providing their families with the opportunity to own a safe, stable home with a zero-interest affordable mortgage, Manatee Habitat requires that prospective homeowners receive financial counseling through TrustPlus. Using this program, homeowners receive one-on-one counseling with a coach to develop a practical, actionbased plan to achieve their financial goals.
“We want to equip our families with the tools they need to handle the financial responsibilities that come along with homeownership,” said Emily Lane, director of
development at Manatee Habitat. “It gives them a solid foundation for success.”
