WINTER PARK — Executive Director for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Tara Sullivan Larsen and local business leader and CEO of Winter Park-based Meeks Capital Nathan Meeks, will join John Crossman Saturday, Dec. 31, at 1:05 p.m. for his weekly radio show The Crossman Conversation.
Crossman, author and speaker launched his radio show across The Shepherd network to provide a platform for activists to share ideas and experiences about dealing with widespread issues and challenges.
Generated by their own personal losses through suicide and mental illness, Larsen and Meeks, along with Crossman, are dedicated each year to bringing as much light as possible to the topic that has always been socially avoided. They’ll also talk about the AFSP’s community events held throughout the country – including this February’s 5K in Baldwin Park. Https://www.afsp.org/Orlando
“By consistently raising awareness, we hope efforts like ours continue to enable AFSP to reach their goal of a 20 percent reduction in the suicide rate by 2025,” Crossman said.
The AFSP’s fundraisers support prevention of suicide through early detection, diagnosis and treatment of depression and other mental health conditions. They also support survivors of suicide loss.
The Shepherd Radio is available on three stations, each part of the MARC Radio group. 1270 AM – WIWA in Orlando which covers the entire Central Florida area.
